Why do my gums bleed when I brush them?

When should I start taking my child to the dentist?
We recommend you to bring your child with you when you come for your regular check-ups, from the age of 2 years. This will familiarise your child with our environment. They can sit on your lap and have a ride in the chair and if they are comfortable we can even count their teeth. Teach good oral hygiene habits early for a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
Are you a preferred provider for any health funds?
Yes, our practice philosophy is to provide our patients with the highest quality dental care using state of the art knowledge and equipment. This is impossible to do under preferred provider schemes where health funds control the level of fees and services.
Is there such a thing as a pain-free injection?
Yes, there is the wand which is a computerised anaesthetic delivery system that uses a unique technology unlike any other. It looks like a small pen and delivers a slowly measured dose of anaesthetic. It controls the flow so that the anaesthetic isn't forced into the cheek or gum and offers a much more comfortable experience.
Do you bulk bill for the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
Yes, we do for certain treatments which include check-ups and cleans, fluoride treatments, x-rays, fissure sealants and some fillings. An out of pocket expense may be required for other treatment. Any treatment required for the child would be discussed in detail at the initial appointment.
Can I claim through my health fund for treatment provided at your practice?
Yes, we offer the HICAPS system which allows us to claim through your health fund for you at the time of treatment.
Why do I need X-rays?
Your dentist may recommend a pair of bitewing x-rays to be taken every 2 years. These X-rays check under old fillings and between the teeth where the dentist can’t see with the naked eye.
