I recently engaged Hi Reach for a project, where I rented a boom lift situated just 600 meters from their depot. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory due to multiple malfunctions of the equipment, which repeatedly left me stranded in the air, awaiting technical assistance for descent. Given their operating hours conclude at 5 PM, and my work extended into the night, the risk of being left suspended without support was unacceptable.



Complicating matters further, the lift experienced uncommanded movements, including forward motion, necessitating urgent attention. Despite contacting Hi Reach, I was informed that resolution would be deferred until the arrival of a senior technician the following noon, causing a significant setback of nearly a day's work. Consequently, I was compelled to source an alternative lift and hire additional personnel to meet my project deadline, incurring extra costs and time delays.



Despite the substantial inconvenience and additional expenses engendered by the malfunctioning equipment, I was disheartened to be charged an additional $445 for a mere 3-hour delay in returning the lift. The lack of offered compensation, coupled with persistent demands and threats for the extra payment, was disconcerting.



This experience has unequivocally influenced my decision to cease future engagements with Hi Reach, despite our frequent need for such equipment, averaging three rentals a week. It's disheartening, especially considering their team conducted the initial site assessment and recommended this particular lift. This incident not only tarnishes what could have been a lasting professional relationship but also compels me to share this disappointing experience within our community, highlighting the company's disregard for customer satisfaction and equipment maintenance.
