What is a conveyancer?
A conveyancer is responsible for transferring the titles of a property from one person/entity to another.
What is the difference in using a conveyancer and a solicitor for conveyancing?
Both a conveyancer and a solicitor are experienced to handle your property transaction. However, if a complex issue arises a conveyancer will need to refer your matter to a solicitor, which will result in additional costs to you.
I need a contract drawn up. What legal services can you provide my business?
Equilaw Solicitors can provide numerous services and agreements, including: Shareholder and security holder agreements, buy or sell agreements, employment contracts and human resource policies, commercial and retail leases, workplace health & safety (WHS), assistance in commercial disputes, dispute resolution, debt recovery, succession planning, distributor and supply agreements, and franchise agreements.
My partner and I have just separated. Can you help me formalise our property settlement and parenting agreements?
Equilaw Solicitors is able to help you with all facets of Family Law, including: Divorce, property settlement, parenting agreements, child custody and visitation, child support, financial binding agreements including prenuptial, post-nuptial and de facto agreements.
Do you service client's right across NSW, including Sydney, Newcastle, Muswellbrook, Denman and Scone?
Equilaw Solicitors not only has clients in the local area, we have international clients too. So no matter where you are we can assist you with your legal matters.
Why should I order building and pest reports?
Failing to apply for a building inspection report allows for no recalls on anyone if the house or building you buy is termite-infested. You will not be able to attribute the agent or vendor because you assumed the risk of not having a pest inspection. We also cautions relying on a pest inspection report that was prepared for a third party, even if the dates are very close. A report prepared for somebody else will not allow you a reproach if a problem is found after the sale is finalised.
I have received a court attendance notice (CAN). What criminal law services do you provide?
Our criminal lawyers can assist you with charges related to drink driving, traffic offences, perjury, larceny, drug offences, assault, murder, manslaughter, break and enter, damage to property, firearm offences, fraud, stalking, intimidation, sexual crimes, corporate crimes, money laundering computer crimes, bribery, affray and AVO.

In some cases we appear before courts in Sydney including local & district courts, Supreme Court of NSW & Federal Court of Australia. Give us a call or send an email to find out if one of our lawyers is available to represent you.
Why do I need a conveyancer?
Thinking you can perform your own conveyancing could cost more money & headaches than engaging a licenced conveyancer or solicitor to handle your property transaction. Our conveyancers & solicitors know the catches & loopholes to look for, from making financial adjustments leading up to settlement to understanding the legal jargon within a contract. Our conveyancers have close business relationships with critical contacts, such as banks, helping save headaches leading up to settlement.
Do you offer free first consultations and appointments?
This will depend on what type of matter you have and how complex it may be. However, we welcome you enquiries and we will take the time to hear your instructions.
