Goodstart was founded on a vision of giving children the best possible start in life through access to quality early learning. As a social enterprise, Goodstart is a not-for-profit organisation that operates with strong business disciplines. We reinvest operating surpluses in our network, our people and our purpose - for the benefit of every child and their early learning. Every day 13,500 Goodstart staff support over 60,000 families and the 71,500 children that attend our 643 childcare centres nation-wide. Our vision is for Australia’s children to have the best possible start in life. Our purpose is to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life. Disappointed by the treatment of children and families by staff - during numerous visits we saw the children being treated like herded sheep as opposed to . individual people. The centre generally seems understaffed, with some educators either uninterested in working there or cruising along doing minimal care duties. We even saw a family get told their child was taking too much 1:1 time with an educator, as they had been crying the entire morning - after only their first day of care. Witnessing the lack of empathy and compassion for a child who needed extra time and support adjusting to a new environment was why we ultimately took our child away from Goodstart Myaree.
Management and admin personnel including a lady called Erin all act very nice to families prior to enrolment, however, once your child is in the centre their attitudes and communications become indifferent and profit-focused. Not a recommended daycare.
