What do I need to do prior to treatments?
Access to all room edges is recommended to spray along skirtings, *No washing should be hanging on the line, *Vacuum or sweep prior to the pest control treatment (the treatment will be more successful if treated areas are left undisturbed for the first 7-10 days after treatment), *Arrange for young children and pets to be vacated for a minimum period of four hours.
Is it safe to stay in my premises while you spray?
As long as young children and pets are excluded, the technician from C.F.S. will explain the proposed treatment plan and the areas to avoid. If there is any doubts (for whatever medical reason or other) in regard to personal safety we advise the premises be vacated during the treatment period and up to 2 - 4 hours upon completion.
Will the spray affect humans?
At C.F.S. your safety is our concern. Treatments will be carried out in a manner where your safety will not be at risk. The chemicals applied are registered for use in hospitals, schools and public places.
How often should I have pest control treatments carried out?
C.F.S. can provide a pest management programme to suit your needs - whether it be 30 days or maybe 3,6, to 12 months. Management programmes can be 'pest specific', Your technician can tell you more at the time of treatment.
Is my cat or dog safe?
Dogs and cats have a curious tendency to sniff. If a liquid spray is being used it is our preference they be excluded from treated areas until the control agent used is visibly dry.
Will the spray used damage my carpet?
Generally not, depending on the target pest. If a wettable powder or dust is to be used, the unsightly residual can readily be removed once the area dries.
What if I touch areas that have been sprayed?
It is not advised to touch treated areas while still wet. This is due to the product being removed and those touching such areas may be at risk of skin contamination or irritation. Once the treated area is visibly dry there is no problem in touching.
My Child suffers from asthma. Is it safe to stay?
Many circumstances can trigger an asthma attack, for this reason we recommend that he/she is not present during the treatment and preferably stays away overnight.
Is the treatment guaranteed?
No, but C.F.S. will provide a suitable 'treatment warranty' on all pest programmes.
Will I see cockroaches, spiders or ants after the treatment?
Yes, during the initial period of pest control insects will tend to become excitable, thus moving around more. Generally they have been in touch with a treated area and will die some hours later.
