Tin Can Bay Houseboats is a family owned and managed business located at the magnificent Tin Can Bay Marina. Our aim is to supply the most affordable houseboat holiday; cruising the Great Sandy Straits & Fraser Island. Our fleet consists of 5 uniquely different vessels allowing us to tailor your holiday needs & budget.

Our aim is to supply the most affordable houseboat holiday; cruising the Great Sandy Straits & Fraser Island. Our fleet consists of 4 different vessels allowing us to tailor your holiday needs & budget. We pride ourselves on our personalised service & will do all in our power to supply our clients with a holiday experience second to none.

Can I hire fishing equipment?
Absolutely! Talk to Margot when you make your booking about fishing equipment. Crab pots are provided on board free of charge!
What is the minimum stay I can have?
All boats have a minimum stay of 2 nights, except over Xmas when the minimum stay is 5 nights.
Why should we use your company over another one?
Because we¿re brilliant! And fun! And we do our very best to make your holiday the best ever. Plus, we¿re far more affordable than our competition!
How much do your boats cost to hire?
Each boat has a different price, depending on the number of nights you wish to stay on board. Have a look at the prices for Gentleman Tom, Golden Grove and Whimbrel.
Can I hire somebody to drive it for me?
For the right price, anything is possible.
What's so great about the Great Sandy Strait?
It's beautiful and serene with a wealth of wildlife. It's calm most of the time and relaxing. See our Gallery here.
Are there toilets on board?
Yes. Although different to toilets at home, they do exactly the same function.
Can I use a mobile phone while out at sea?
Yes. Although you aren't on open water, so you aren't technically at sea. Telstra and Optus phones work fine. Vodafone and other providers may struggle. Internet connection is also possible if you want to bring a dongle or use your mobile as a hotspot. We also have a 240V inverter and 12 V charging stations available on board for charging your phone.
How do I get there?
You can get here via plane, train, automobile, even walking if you want. But all the transportation information is provided on this useful page here.
What if I don't know how to drive a boat?
You will be taught everything you need to know about how to drive the boat during your briefing when you first come on board.
