Is steam cleaning or dry cleaning better?
Carpet steam cleaning (hot water extraction) is the Australian Standard best carpet cleaning method. This method removes the build-up of dirt and grit which sinks into the bottom of the carpet fibres and can cause premature wear of your carpet. Performed correctly, steam cleaning should not over-wet the underlay or carpet. In some instances, dry cleaning may be a preferable alternative e.g. nursing homes, very low pile carpets, etc.
Does cleaning your carpet make it wear out faster?
No, actually dirt acts as an abrasive when trapped in your carpet or fabrics and should be removed to reduce wear.
Are your products safe?
Our products are non-toxic, safe for pets & children, biodegradable and phosphate free.
Should I vacuum before the carpet cleaner arrives?
Regular vacuuming is essential to the longevity of your carpet. You should vacuum your carpet as often as possible. CJ's Carpet Cleaning will always pre-vacuum your carpets with our highly efficient filter vacuum to remove as much loose dirt and build-up before deep carpet cleaning.
Will you remove all my stains?
The difference between a spot and a stain is that a spot is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.), that is removable by standard cleaning method (the foreign material is on or around the carpet fibre). A stain is a foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on a carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods (the foreign material has penetrated 'soaked into' fibre and has changed or damaged the fibre itself). Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove.
Do you move furniture?
When necessary, we will move and replace small furniture in its original position. However, it is helpful if you can move small knick-knacks and furniture from area to be cleaned.
Will your services help my allergies?
Yes, having your carpet and furniture cleaned removes pollutants and makes for a friendlier breathing environment.
Can you treat pet urine and faeces?
Yes, we do treat pet urine and faeces and accidents; however, results can vary, particularly, if the client has already used a DIY cleaning product or process. Generally, our products do clean and remove pet odour.
How long before I can walk on my carpets?
You can walk on your carpet immediately but it is recommended that you limit traffic until completely dry. Our dry times typically range from 2-4 hours. Dry times can be affected by many factors including weather, humidity and airflow.
