North Nowra Swim School

After almost 40 years, Shea Swim School is under new management! The Swim School will now be known as- North Nowra Swim School. We want to take this moment to assure all existing clients that although there are new owners, and a new name, everything in the pool remains the same!

Lynda Shea has decided after almost 40 years as the owner of Shea's Swim School, that it is time to pack up and move to Queensland to be with her children and baby grandson. Lynda says goodbye to the swim school knowing the people who have taken over, Adrian and Kirsty Weller, do so with experience within the swimming industry, running a successful mining business, and with Kirsty having worked with children in both the public and catholic school systems locally, and also in Kiama and the Wollongong areas. Adrian and Kirsty also come in to the swim school with the continuation of teaching children "The Shea Way" method of teaching. Shea's Swim School has been the Premier Swim School within the Shoalhaven for almost 40 years! North Nowra Swim School will continue on the with the methods and legacy Lynda Shea has built and continued for so many years in the Shoalhaven area.. Kirsty is a qualified swim teacher who has taught locally, and has worked with in Public and Catholic Schools as a Student Support Officer, as well as an Aboriginal Education Assistant. She has over 10 years of experience working with children and is very much looking forward to continuing this for many years to come. Kirsty has always gotten great satisfaction in seeing children learn something new and achieving their goals, especially when those goals are contributed with learning a skill for life. Kirsty underwent extra training with Lynda and observed many lessons before Lynda left to ensure all methods taught by Lynda at the swim school remain and everything flows easily throughout the changeover. There has been minimal disruptions during change over, and all existing staff have remained. There will be times that the staff will improvise and "change it up" if they believe your child needs a slightly different method of teaching. Our aim is to make sure your child gets the best possible lessons available in order to become confident and competent swimmers. North Nowra Swim School will continue to offer quality swim education to all who are students at the swim school, and will strive to teach our students how to be safe and confident in the water and will endeavour to do all we can for your children to learn the most important skill they will ever learn- swimming. Learning to Swim is an important lesson all children need to learn. All children have the right to access Swim Education, and we at North Nowra Swim School will continue to offer affordable prices for your child to gain the necessary skills to help prevent a drowning. It must be noted that no matter how much swimming a person does, no one is ever completely "drown proof". However, we here at NNSS do all we can to prepare your child with the necessary skills for an emergency situation that hopefully they'll never need to use. North Nowra Swim School's lessons are conducted in our indoor, private, heated 17m swimming pool. Our pool is heated to 34° Celsius, so it’s warm year-round. We also have a waiting area which overlooks the pool area, has a kiosk with many snacks available and serves barista coffee and other drinks- it's a great place for you to relax with your other children, or chat to a friend/another parent while your child is in their swimming lesson. We also invite you to take advantage of our Free Swimming Assessment, where we’ll take a look and assess your child’s skills so they’re placed in the most appropriate class.
