Heatlie Engineering was founded in 1976, by the Heatlie family. The current owners purchased the company in 2004.
Our solid hotplate bbqs and outdoor gas cooking appliances have become the benchmark in quality cooking products for the hire and catering industry and are used widely within the Defence Forces. Our products can be purchased from Barbecues Galore and independent barbecue retail stores across Australia and through Choice Catering in New Zealand.
This small family business has worked with local advisors to streamline the manufacturing process, improving turnaround times for orders. Most manufacturing processes are now in-house which has allowed us to speed up the processing of orders for our customers. Most recently, the installation and commissioning of a turret punch in December 2009 has made the changes to our manufactuing processes sustainable, without having to rely on outside suppliers.

FAQs
What colours can I have?
Heatlie BBQs come in 2 colours, black or claret. These bbqs are made from mild steel and have a powder coated finish. A stainless steel model is available also.
Are all plates made from stainless steel?
Most Heatlie BBQs are manufactured with a 5mm mild steel plate. Customers can order a stainless steel plate in 6mm or 10mm thickness. These are ordered from time to time, but are less popular than the mild steel version. Read FAQ (3) above for further information on the benefits, or otherwise, of stainless steel plates.
Can I purchase spare parts for my Heatlie BBQ?
Yes - spare parts are available for all current models, and some older models as well. We will only supply spare parts for AGA approved models. We do not carry spare parts for products which no longer have current AGA certificates but we may be able to assist with upgrading your product so it will meet AGA standards. Please contact us for further information. Spare parts are now available from our Online store. We are gradually adding more but please contact us if your products are not listed.
