ECU remapping tuning, also known as tuning or chipping involves altering the standard parameters in your factory ECU. This is done by reading out the factory software and modifying its tables using highly specialized software. We then write the software back into your ECU with the changes made. We always keep a copy of your factory ECU file so we can revert back to the factory program at any time should this be required.
Tuning is all about safely enhancing the performance of your vehicle without compromising engine longevity. All vehicles are de-rated from factory for many reasons. We work within safe tuning perimeters calculated specifically for each vehicle including aftermarket components when fitted, to provide optimum performance and reliability. We health check every vehicle before a tune to make sure it's ready for us! If any issues are picked up they must be rectified before your car is tuned.
Due to many 1000′s of hours of testing our products and services we have a full warranty on all of our products. This does not replace your factory warranty.
Absolutely! We save each individual vehicle's map on file in case you request it be restored to factory settings.
The short answer is no. Your car is being driven on the road under real conditions in real time, not on a set of rollers in a hot sweaty workshop. Dyno's have long-time been a gimmick and selling point for the main purposes of showing the variation of torque and horsepower before and after a remap. A short drive of your vehicle after the remap will speak for itself. However - we do provide you with accurate gain figures you may see on a dyno before we remap your vehicle.
No, in fact quite the opposite. Even on a performance tune, if you continue to drive the car in the same way as you did before the upgrade, your fuel consumption will probably improve. Of course, if you have a track day motorsport tuning map installed on the car, and you are driving the car under the conditions in which full-on motorsport tuning is intended, you’re likely to find a slightly reduced MPG figure.
