At Sundial Dental we offer the most advanced dental technology in Port Macquarie. By offering cerec (same day crowns) we save you money and time in your busy life. We aim to provide our clients with the highest quality dental work, in an affordable treatment fee range. We do this by continually monitoring average dental fees in NSW and applying them to our clinic.
Lanap for moderate to severe gum disease is offered by Dr Peter Elfar, Australia's first fully trained and only fully certified Lanap dentist. What this means is that you get a second chance with your periodontal involved teeth without having to go through painful gum surgery. Using the revolutionary Lanap laser developed in the USA over 12 years ago and brought to Australia by Dr Peter Elfar we can have your gum disease treated in 2 sessions for good.
Implants for replacement of missing teeth are also placed at Sundial Dental either in a delayed format, after a tooth has been missing for a while or as immediate implants, straight after a tooth has been extracted. By combing our German cerec and 3D X-ray technology we can create in house surgical guides which allow us to accurately place your implant to 0.1mm of the design on our 3D X-ray, what more is that we can for see problems with our 3D X-ray before we even do the surgery.
3D X-rays allow for not only accurate placement of implants but also are an invaluable diagnostic tool in the initial stages of diagnosis and treatment planning. Do you remember the black and white T.V? That is what 2D X-ray are like, yes you get a picture, but it's in shades of grey and sometimes you don't get the full picture and appreciation of what you are seeing. 3D X-rays are like colour TV's, you get to see the full picture and the colours in the picture.

How long would I expect a cerec crown to last for?
Cerec has been around for over 25 years. It is a German CAD CAM technology that allows crowns to be placed in one sitting and in 1 hour without the need for conventional impressions all the clinical information is taken by a very accurate digital camera. Research has shown that the longevity of a cerec crown at 10 years to be 95% and at 20 years to be at 85%.
What is invisalign?
Invisalign invisible, removable and comfortable aligners will give you the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted. And best of all, no one can tell you're wearing them. Invisalign is great for adults and teenagers. Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.

Do you place amalgam fillings?
No, Sundial Dental believes in placing the most biologically compatible materials in your mouth, whether it is in composite or porcelain. So you only get white fillings here. Some patients are sensitive to Bisphenol A (BPA) and so we also have composite and ceramic material that is BPA free.
I notice you have the latest technologies in dentistry i.e. cerec, 3D X-rays, lanap gum laser, intra oral camera's, does this cost me anymore?
No, quite the opposite in fact. Our mission is to provide outstanding customer service and outstanding dental treatment options for our patients at very affordable prices. To be more specific we maintain our fees in line with the average ADA (Australian Dental Association) survey fee. So the patient wins on two fronts, they get an exceptional and unique services, we are the only cerec provider 250km radius of Port Macquarie & the only LANAP provider in Australia, at the average ADA survey fee.
Do you use overseas/offshore dental technicians?
No, we believe in supporting our local industries and keeping jobs in Australia. Sundial Dental doesn't use any technicians expect locals. We would prefer to pay a premium to our technician located in Taree and receive a great product that is stringently tested and quality controlled in Australia. We also believe in treating every patient like a family member. So as we wouldn't place a dental appliance manufactured overseas in a family members mouth, we definitely won't be placing it in yours.
Do you place implants?
Not only do we place implants but we also restore the implants with a crown. So in essence we are a one stop dental practice. And there is no need to see other specialists for extra visits. Utilizing the 3D x-ray in office technology and cerec technology we can plan and place the implant through a surgical guide/stent. This allows us to place the implant through a key hole approach to an accuracy approaching 0.1mm avoiding all the vital nerves and arteries in the jaw.
What is cerec guide and are you doing it?
This recent advancement in implant dentistry was released in Feb 2012 and allows for the milling of the surgical guide in the office and has rapidly changed the face of implant dentistry in the United States & Europe. Visit us http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptLq-yt_aZo&feature=related We have started to provide this service as of September this year after attending a number of courses and gone through a steep and exciting learning curve.
Do you take new patients?
We always welcome new patients, whether it's for an emergency dental visit or a routine check-up. Our two practice locations and 6 dentists are able to accommodate your every need. Visit us http://www.sundialdental.com.au/staff.html.
Do you remove amalgam fillings safely?
Yes, we do. We believe in placing a rubber dam over the patients mouth to catch any amalgam debris, we cover your nose with wet tissues to minimize any vapour inhalation. We also remove the amalgam in pieces/chunks with a tungsten carbide bur which cuts the metal instead of grinding it. Also if patients would like to use a charcoal mouthwash this is optional and is available at the G Warehouse in Port Macquarie. (02) 6584 9451. Thank you for trusting us with your dental care.
