Do you conduct private truffle hunts?

As we live at our farm with our trained truffle dogs, it is certainly something we can offer. Should this be of interest, please get in touch with your needs and we can certainly provide options that are suitable.

How did you get started in truffle production?

It's a long story and a journey that's best enjoyed around a campfire or during our winter truffle hunt experiences. Needless to say, it's one of the best decisions we've ever made and has provided so many benefits for our children growing up, health and lifestyle that we just love to share it with our guests.

Why are truffles so expensive?

Most people enjoy truffles in boutique restaurants and even the best chefs don't realise just what's involved in the process of growing truffles. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it, right? However, once you've experienced a truffle hunt and discovered what's involved and just how easy they are to use at home. You can save yourself lots of money by buying direct.

Can you accommodate people with disabilities?

Our farm has been fully approved by Council with a disabled parking spot along with a fully accessible bathroom including a shower. We can also offer a mobility scooter should you need to get around our yard and the pavilion has a ramp which allows access for anybody. One of our farm stay units can be rearranged also for anybody wishing to stay the night.

What time of the year are truffles available?

Truffles are ready to harvest in winter, this is usually from mid-June to mid-August, in our region after we've had some good frosts to bring on the delightful aroma and flavour of this prized fungi. Truffles are best enjoyed fresh and as the season is short, it makes it all the more exciting to ensure you don't miss out.

Do you have EV charging facilities?

We have a Type 2 EV charging station that is available for anybody that is staying, hunting or just calling past and needs to recharge their electric vehicles.

Do you offer events and functions at your farm?

We have a purpose-built pavilion which was built for our daughter's intimate bush wedding and it's the perfect venue for company team building events, birthday parties or weddings. The pavilion has a commercial kitchen, state of the art 75cm Smart TV, a professional Yamaha mixing console and a wireless Shure microphone for the perfect soundscape. Enjoy the outdoors on our expansive lawn area.

What type of accommodation do you have at your farm?

We have a variety of offerings, from unpowered camp sites to rustic cabins all the way to luxury farm stay units with all the creature comforts you wouldn't want to do without. Our property has a beautiful bush track that leads you to the river where a private beach awaits for a swim, canoe, fish or gold panning.

How do truffles grow?

Well, that is a mystery, however if we gave it all away here, you wouldn't want to come and experience the adventure in person. There is quite a bit of science behind it and from our extensive experience, a lot of hit and miss as well. We'll share that knowledge during our truffle hunt experiences conducted every weekend from mid-June to mid-August.

Can we pick our own truffle?

Whilst we aren't like a strawberry farm where you can just go and pick your own. We do offer the ability to dig up truffles after our experienced dogs show us where they are hiding during our truffle hunt experiences. These tours are conducted each weekend during winter and often sell out.
