Searching on Yellow Pages
Discovering businesses is a breeze with Yellow Pages
As you start typing in the Yellow Pages search bar, our intuitive drop-down menu offers suggestions tailored to your needs.
- Already know what you need? Opt for a broad search like “Car mechanic”.
- Seeking specific expertise? A brand search such as “BMW mechanic” could be your solution.
- Have a particular business in mind? Fantastic! Simply search by name, like “German Auto Haus”.
Use the location search to pinpoint a nearby business. You can specify:
- A suburb, town, region or even a whole state
- A postcode
- A street
Automatically finding your location
Alternatively, you can allow us to try to find your location automatically. We’ll then display nearby businesses matching your search criteria, along with those servicing your area.
When you first visit the Yellow Pages homepage, your web browser will prompt you to share your location. We don’t share this information with any third parties; it’s solely used for finding businesses near you and providing directions.
You can easily update your location anytime by clicking or tapping the “Use My Location” icon in the search bar at the top of each page.
How does it work?
Yellow Pages requests your web browser to disclose its location. Each web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) employs distinct methods to determine its location. If you’re using a GPS-enabled device such as a smartphone or tablet, the browser will leverage that capability. Alternatively, it might use data linked to nearby WiFi networks or IP addresses.
Run into a problem?
Devices equipped with GPS typically provide more precise location data compared to those lacking this capability. If the displayed location is incorrect, simply clear the text from the location field and manually input your location.
If clicking the “Use My Location” icon doesn’t work, or the “No Location” icon is shown, it could be that:
- You previously instructed your browser not to disclose your location to us. To change this, you’ll need to adjust your browser settings by refreshing the page or selecting a location icon within your browser’s notification area or address bar.
- Your browser couldn’t locate you. In this case, manual entry of your location is necessary.
- You’re using an outdated browser lacking support for this feature. Consider updating your browser to resolve this issue.
