      Our journey begins with Dr Frank Portelli, a chiropractor whose path wasn't straightforward. The idea of becoming a chiropractor was initially his father's, who had enrolled his elder son in the profession. While still considering a potential career in printing and graphic arts, where he had shown exceptional promise by winning the first scholarship in New South Wales for printing, Dr Frank found his true calling in chiropractic. This career shift epitomises our underlying philosophy; we believe in finding and nurturing one's natural capabilities and directing them towards the service and care of others.

      Dr Frank's education at The Sydney College of Chiropractic laid the foundation for our practice's approach. Initially challenged by the rigorous academic demands, Dr Frank soon realised his innate talent for the hands-on aspects of chiropractic. His philosophy of care was further shaped by his time with the Australian Army Reserve, which he ultimately left to focus on his studies, underscoring the dedication required to excel in the health field.

      Post-graduation, Dr Frank continued to contribute to the educational aspect of the discipline, supervising in the school clinic for several years. He did not stop there; his commitment to learning saw him complete a course in acupuncture and acquire certification in dry needling. He integrates acupuncture reflex points, acupressure, and dry needling with chiropractic adjustments to address problematic trigger points. Dr Frank's versatility is evident in the array of chiropractic techniques he has mastered, including but not limited to Activator Methods, Gonstead, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), and Thompson Techniques.
