How often should I get my mobility scooter serviced?

We advise every 12 months.

Do I need a licence or Dr’s letter to own a scooter?

You do not require either. Providing you have mobility issues you can own and register a mobility scooter.

Can I ride on the road?

You are permitted to travel anywhere a pedestrian can walk. You are obligated to use a footpath if it is safe to do so, otherwise you may ride on the road, hugging the gutter.

How much is registration?

This is free.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

This is a personal decision, not a legal one.

What is the tyre pressure?

On average, 25 psi in the front & 30 psi in the back. The tyre pressure should be checked regularly to keep the tyres wearing evenly.

How fast can I go? The legal limit is 10 KPH?

Obviously when sharing the footpath with pedestrians, you must give way to them.

Do I need to insure my mobility scooter?

It is advisable in the event that you crash or it is stolen.

When do I charge my scooter?

Every time that you use scooter, put the scooter on charge and leave it on overnight. This way it will be fully charged for your next trip.

How do I clean my scooter?

Do not use a hose! A damp cloth, chummy and Mr Sheen.
