FAQschevron down

I've had a previous injury/ operation. Can I still participate?

Most yoga postures can be adapted or modified to cater to an existing injury, or changes to the body following an operation. It is important to talk to your yoga teacher about your injury needs so that they can guide you safely through your yoga session making any adaptations necessary.

What are the benefits of yoga?

Physical benefits include strength, flexibility, muscle tone and balance, a greater range of movement, posture and alignment, and better breathing. Mental benefits include mental calmness, reduction of stress, increased focus/ concentration, awareness of inner self and overall feelings of being refreshed and greater well being.

Can I do yoga if I'm pregnant?

Yoga is an excellent form of exercise for pregnant women. Yoga can help prepare you for birth, counteract fatigue, stretch sore muscles and improve the breathlessness that can often be associated with pregnancy. If you are new to yoga you cannot commence classes until your second trimester and you must bring a letter from your obstetrician or treating professional.

I have attended two workshops run by Kuring-gai Yoga.
Both were well attended. They were facilitated professionally and we all learned a great deal. As well as guided practical application in the workshops, we all left armed with information and tools we could apply in our own lives, easily and effectively. Very good value and I highly recommend.

As a mature age male I'd never done yoga before recently getting to know Liz through local small business networking. Thanks to her encouragement I've become an enthusiastic and appreciative attendee at her Saturday morning classes. I'm finding the movements and postures Liz demonstrates to be greatly beneficial to mind and body. Highly recommended.

I have been attending Ku-ring-gai Yoga for many years and always found the staff to be helpful and able to come up with alternative postures when injuries mean a different approach is needed. Over the years I have tried many different yoga groups and have found this one to be the best.
