When it comes to signage and prints, we do it all. We keep all major materials in stock because we understand our clients’ needs are sometimes more urgent. By doing all of our signage in house we are able to complete some jobs with very short notice once artwork is approved.
We also work with suppliers that are close and/or who can deliver next day, so we can get the jobs in and out within 24 hours such as vinyl cut lettering, digital printed (not laminated), Corflute Signs, Small Signs, A-Frames and Banners. If you are requiring digital prints, this may take a bit longer as it needs to degas before we laminate it for UV protection of the print. Also, bigger sign projects may require longer time frames but 99% of our work has a turnaround time of between 1 – 5 days from artwork approval.
All of our signs are produced in house on our Mimaki digital printers or vinyl cutters. We only use excellent quality inks, media and panels so that you can be reassurance that your signs will last against fading, adhesion and will have durability in our harsh Gold Coast climate. Kirkby Signs are experienced, fully qualified, and licenced installers who will ensure your signs are installed correctly. From door signage to full business signage, we can ensure your signs will be installed safely and to the highest standards.

Depends on the signage you require. If it is a small vinyl sign or an a-frame, once artwork is approved you can normally have this the same day or the next day. For our digital printing, we need to let it degas for 24 hours before laminating it. Bigger jobs, we require between 3-5 working days once artwork is approved.
We use Alucobond, which is a metal panel, plastic, acrylic, banner, vinyl, foam and more. As every job is different, please contact us to discuss your sign requirements.
Because we create signs, we cut signs to your requirements. Our standard sheets are 2440 x 1220 which can be cut down or added too for your signage needs.
We laminate for two reasons. To protect your print from the sun, so you get longer for your investment. Also, because the sign is made up of media and inks, if you don't laminate it and someone uses metho on it, it will take the print off.
At Kirkby Bros Signwriters, we will provide you with the artwork for your approval once a deposit has been made to accept our quote. You can then see how your sign will look and you can make changes before we create your sign.
Yes, you can supply your own artwork as long as the artwork is in the correct format, we need to complete your job. We can also design your signs and give your ideas of what we feel will work well from our 20 years of industry experience. Just call us to discuss your artwork requirements for your signs.
If you have had business cards printed, then they normally have the format that we require for your signs, and they are normally more than happy to forward this to us or if you have had a graphic artist designed your logo. This will save you money as we don't have to redraw it.
Yes, you can but they will not be good quality unless you purchase them from iStock or another similar company. They are set up for screen resolution quality of only 72 dpi. This is clear to view on your screen but when we blow them up to the size you require for your sign, they are too pixelated. The image needs to be of high resolution (300 dpi to scale or higher). Please call us for advice so that we can produce great signs for you.
We accept vector files, TIFF, PDF and EPS Files. Files need to be converted to curves so if we need to change anything. We also accept high-resolution JPEG but we can't change them like the rest of the files because it is an image so we can't cut out wording, change the colour or the design. If you require changes, we would have to redraw it for a fee.
EPS stands for Encapsulated PostScript. It is a vector-based file. This is popular in the printing and sign industry as you can resize, change colour and add to it without any loss of quality. This is great as all your signs may have different requirements.
