About Us

Podiatry Mackay is a private practice that has been providing quality specialized care for the foot and lower limb to Mackay and the region for over 20 years.

There are two full time nationally registered podiatrists ensure all treatment is patient focused. The podiatrists regularly attend ongoing professional development conferences and seminars to ensure they're on top of all developments within the field and to ensure you receive the very best podiatric care that you deserve.

We Accept

Our patients come from many varying backgrounds and referral sources, and whilst we receive a large number of referrals from medical and allied health professionals, many of our most satisfying referrals come from word of mouth from existing patients, their friends and families.

  • What is a Podiatrist, and what do they do exactly?

    Podiatry or podiatric medicine is a branch of medicine devoted to the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. Podiatrists are also able to diagnose and treat any complications of the above which affect the lower limb, including skin and nail disorders, corns, calluses, and ingrown toenails. Foot and leg injuries and infections gained through sport or other activities are also diagnosed and treated by podiatrists.

  • Do I need a referral to see a Podiatrist?

    No, a referral is not needed to see one of our podiatrists However, certain patients such as those with Department of Veterans Affairs cards and Medicare Care Plans and EPC's will need referrals from their GP. “You can claim directly from your Private Health funds and simply pay the gap at the time of your appointment.”
