Depending on your age, residency status and type of income received, most people are required to lodge an annual income tax return (with a few exceptions). If you are unsure as to whether you are required to lodge an income tax return, contact us. If you want to work it out for yourself, individuals can answer basic questions on the ATO's website.
That is a complex question. We can help you with what to include, depending on your specific circumstances. Contact us for an appointment and we will provide checklists on the information to bring to your appointment.
If the information is available from the ATO as prefilled amounts, then we just need to check this information is complete. As Centrelink is not providing PAYG payment summaries this year, you can access this information from Centrelink online services or at the Department of Human Resources. For employers, contact them for a copy of your PAYG payment summary or provide your last payslip at 30 June.
We suggest you still come and see us. As tax agents, we get longer periods of time to lodge than if you lodged your own tax return (normally due 31 October each year). We may be able to access the missing information for you or suggest alternative ways to obtain this information. You may not be missing as much information as you think.
The more complex the tax return, the more it may cost. However, our prices are very reasonable with the average basic salary and wage earner tax return costing $110 per return (this excludes schedules such as rental property schedules, sole trader business schedules and Investment schedules which incur additional costs). For other entities such as partnerships, companies and trusts, we charge on a fixed fee basis which you agree to before we commence work.
For business clients, we offer a free no-obligation initial consultation (up to 15 minutes) to discuss your business requirements. Just bring your last income tax returns and financial statements with you and we will quote you a fee based on the services you require (e.g., quarterly BAS statement preparation, annual tax return preparation etc.).
We certainly can assist you with your new business. If you are buying a business, you definitely need to see us before committing to the purchase. We can advise on the process of purchasing the business, assist in your due diligence process once you have committed to the purchase and liaison with your financier.
You can ask a question on our website or call us. However, if you are not an existing client, answers will be only general in nature. For our existing clients, we do not charge for telephone enquiries under 15 minutes. We prefer our clients to make informed timely decisions with up-to-date information.
