How can I tell if my pool is leaking?
As a guide, pools in SEQ can lose up to 3" of water per week in peak summers due to evaporation. If you are losing more, we would advise that you perform a "bucket test" to confirm.
My pool pump is noisy, what could be wrong with it?
It is most likely one of two things. It is either debris in the front impeller area of the pump or it is damaged/worn bearing. In either case, it should be inspected by a professional to prevent further damage, we can assist you with this.
How can I check if my Saltwater Chlorinator is working?
Most chlorinators have either an analogue meter or a digital display which tells you how well they are working. Essentially, if you turn up the output control to 100%, you should find that it reaches the maximum on the meter or display/leads with no error message. There should also be a white cloud visible from the electrode as the water passes over it. If this is not the case, you should contact us for further advice.
How often should I change my cartridge filter element?
The first sign of a worn cartridge element will be building pressure on the gauge and not lasting between monthly cleans. They block up at a microscopic level and need replacing generally every 3-5 years. If there is a split in the fabric or moulded ends, then they should be replaced immediately.
My pool pump won't prime?
There are many reasons why this might be the case. Check the basics like pool water level, baskets clean, pump lid and O-ring condition.
What pool cleaner is best for my pool?
We sell many different automatic cleaners including suction, pressure and robotic. We can advise on the best cleaner to suit your pool and your budget. Give our friendly store staff a call.
Is tank water alright to top up my pool with?
Wherever possible, we would recommend that you top up with town water instead of tank water. Town water has been chemically treated and sanitised and is generally close to your pool waters required chemistry levels. Tank water may contain high levels of phosphates, from decomposing leaf matter in gutters, as well as other contaminants that may affect your pool water quality and balance.
Do you sell liquid pool chlorine?
Yes, we have bulk tanks in our stores and sell pre-packaged drums as well as a filling service for our customers into their approved containers. Approved containers must meet Queensland guidelines for dangerous goods containers, contact us for advice, if not sure.
What is the correct water level in my pool?
You should aim to have your water level at no less than half way up the skimmer box mouth opening into the pool.
