I was told by electronic gurus on my Forum that my Marantz SA11S2 was unrepairable when the sound output ceased functioning.
I took it to reputable repairer a km away from my home.
4 weeks later he told me the repair wasn't going to happen as it required a new rom module which is no longer in production.
I was almost going to send it scrap metal but decided to go to Adelaide's guru of electronic repairs Matt at Adept as a final adjudication.
Adept is quite a drive from where I live so is not my first choice for that reason. However as I have always done in the past if nobody can fix my gear locally I know taking it to Matt will be the final word
Well my approach hasn't let me down.
Matt was able to fix it within a week.
He is the best Electronic repairman in Adelaide hands down.
I have got my treasured cd player working again.
I just wished he was closer to where I live.

I have over a number of years had my audio amp either repaired or checked, can't fault their service. Not many places around where electronic gear gets repaired.

I was promised by the Adept Tech that my TV would be fixed 'in 7 days'. The repair and required part were quickly identified by the Tech while I was in store - it was a common problem and easily fixed the Tech suggested to me. I left a deposit that would go 'towards the TV's repair' and was told that I'd be called next week. Ten days later after no call I visited Adept for an update. I was told the part hadn't arrived yet but '[the part] should be there in a few days ["next week"] and the TV would be repaired after the parts arrival "next week". Adept said they would call when it was ready. Two weeks later, still with no TV and no call from Adept, I rang and was told the part was obsolete/unavailable and the TV could not be repaired. When I said I'll come to pick up the TV I was told that it was dismantled in pieces - even though the part was obsolete and the Tech did not have to dismantlte the TV to examine the TV to find the problem it was dismantled in pieces - so I'd have to wait a day. When I suggested the deposit would be returned to me Adept said that it would not be returned. Among the things that are not good in this situation are: to be told one week that the part was on its way then told the following week the part didn't exist, and also to be told that the deposit [that was stated clearly to me to be 'toward repair'] would not be returned because of the time it took to [a] seek an obsolete part and [b] dismantle an unrepairable TV that didn't have parts available to fix it and did not need to be dismantled. This little true story suggests clearly that Adept is not the place to go for all your electronic needs and at best you should avoid Adept. It is not that the TV wasn't fixed - it IS that Adept deceived me along most steps of the way, avoided communicating with me about the TV, and played the 'dismantle the TV that can't be fixed' game so that they could argue about having to spend time on my TV and keep the deposit. Exit Adept and Enter Consumer and Business Services and possibly Minor Civil Actions Court - but that would be a whole new true story. Avoid Adept Electronic Services.

We took a set of speakers for repair. We were very patient with them taking 2 months to fix/get parts then on finally being told they were fixed and ready to go, took speakers home and the newly installed charging port was not working. Took back in to store and they repaired which would've been good, fine, but was rudely told we were the cause for the speaker not working, even though this wasn't the case, it just hadnt been fixed correctly in the first place. Job repair itself is sloppy aswell as obviously something wasn't done correctly, which actually would've been ok, however to be treated like dirt after being patient customers is unfair. Would recommend looking elsewhere for better service.

Highly recommend Matt ! my problem was one of my own making he explained to me how to setup my av no charge.

Adept fixed my sat nav for $ compared to dealer quote of $$$$$. Hurray for Aussie enginuity! And good customer seervice to go with it
