What is the difference between broadloom and square metres?
A broadloom metre equates to 3.66 square metres, i.e. 1 metre length by 3.66 metres in width. To calculate a square metre price divide the broadloom metre price by 3.66. This could be of benefit in comparing other floor coverings such as vinyl and timber which are specifically priced by square metre.

After weeks of selecting carpet we placed our order, paid our deposit and had a confirmation letter. Was rung on the Friday (carpet was to be laid on Monday) to be told they are pulling out of the deal as they misquoted. We went into the shepparton store on Saturday morning to discuss this, attempted to get them to honor their deal or seek a resolution as it was totally their error, to be confronted by the owner with his opening statement "so you're the people with the problem"!
This aggressive bully went on to abuse and accuse us of trying to rip him off - at no point were we allowed to complete a sentence before he was yelling at us again. He could see no reason, there was no offer of any alternative and all transpired in a very threatening manner. When we asked for our money back there was more drama as the eftpos machine was saying the refund was "over the limit", was told a bank transfer could take days and when we demanded our money we had a cheque literally thrown at us. Would never ever recommend this business to anyone - to be treated in this manner by the owner was absolutely appalling as the error lay squarely with them.

My husband and I visited H & T Floorworld Shepparton this week. An interesting experience; to say the least.
We were greeted by Mick ( I assume it was Mick in any case the bald guy probably the manager) who asked if he could assist so I explained why we were in store.
We are starting the process of building a new house and wanted to have a look in a few stores at the range of flooring on display.
I was then arrogantly told that Floorworld Shepparton do not hold the contract with our Builder (the Ballarat store does) and therefore they would be unable to assist as it
is "wasting their time because there is no sale in it for them."
It was said so rudely that I honestly thought the guy was joking!!
After a few awkward seconds of staring at each other I was still unsure.
So I replied that's fine and said that we would just a have a look around .....
Only to be told that "its a waste of their time and no its NOT okay for you to look around"
I stated I guess I would not be using their company for flooring for our other home either then and was promptly told "we dont need your business we are very busy"
I have never visited a retail store whereby you are not allowed to look around. My husband stated thats the first time he has ever been asked to leave a store.
I hope the other Floorworld stores have friendlier staff.
On the drive home I had a laugh for a few reasons:
-I realised that for a "very busy store" we were actually the only people there.
- I now know why the Shepparton store does NOT have the contract
The system would not let me rate this 0 star
