      How often should I have my chimney cleaned?

      Chinmeys or flues should be cleaned every 12 months for added saftey. Wood heaters only burn properly if your fire is getting enough air. If wood doesnt burn properly then it releases gases and particles that are carried into the atmosphere in the smoke


      What should I do with unseasoned wood?

      If you have unseasoned wood, split it in a criss-cross pattern to allow for maxium air cirulation. Dont totally cover the wood pile with plastic as this creates a high humidity envoirment and will draw moisture out of the soil and into the wood.

      What wood is the right wood?

      Using the right wood will result in a cleaner, hotter, and more efficient fire. Allways burn dry and well seasoned wood. You can tell if the wood is right if it gives a sharp "cracking" sound when pieces are hit together or it has visiable cracks from the centre
