Are your trainers happy to work alongside my company's training unit or training manager?
Absolutely! Many of our existing clients engage SDS Training to support existing internal training programs or, alternatively, to provide tangible external relevance to internal training solutions.
Is the training compliant to Australian code?
As a registered training organisation, SDS Training is required to adhere to strict compliance standard as outlined by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). To ensure we meet such standards, regular and thorough internal and external audits are conducted.
Is after hours training or training on weekends available?
At SDS Training we endeavour to be as flexible as possible beyond the Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm schedule. For this reason, we offer some after hours training as well as weekend training upon request, however, these appointments are subject to availability and demand.
Does my age preclude me from training with SDS Training?
Our training solutions are predominantly available for those over the age of 15. Please call us on 1300 000 737 to check your eligibility to participate.
Which areas do you service?
SDS Training has two major training premises; Maryborough and Rockhampton. Additionally, we offer a diverse range of training regularly in locations across Queensland, with on-site training available to clients meeting eligibility requirements.
How long does a training course generally take?
The length of a specific training course is heavily dependent on the nature of the course (i.e. Short course, High-Risk, Qualification, etc.). Check out our website or give us a call for more information regarding the duration of specific courses.
Does your training guarantee me a job?
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee employment opportunities as a direct result of our courses and training solutions. We do, however, strive to provide all participants with the highest quality training to increase opportunities to engage with an ever evolving and competitive employment sector.
I didn’t think the formal training was a real option for me because I can’t read or write?
We believe that high quality, industry specific training should be available to all. SDS Training are passionate about reducing or eliminating barriers, including language, literacy and numeracy competency levels. Our dedicated and experienced training team are there to assist every step of the way to ensure no student is left behind.
How are course or training fees paid?
We have a range of subsidised training options available for eligible participants (i.e. Certificate 3 Guarantee program, CSQ funding and User Choice funding). Visit sdstraining.edu.au for more information, including eligibility criteria. For students not eligible for subsidised training, a fee for service payment is required (concessional and non-concessional rates apply).
How will training impact the job site or my time at work?
We venture to ensure that all training and assessments are designed to minimise workplace disturbances, however, some disruption may be experience depending on the course durations and/or assessment requirements.
