To keep the Central Coast active and pain-free, with top-notch physio and health services.
Founded in 2005 by Darren Stuchbery. Originally a one-man business, it transformed into 6S Health Pty Ltd in 2007. In 2017, it rebranded to 6S PHYSIO, emphasizing Physiotherapy. By 2019, a new Umina location was added, and the services continued to expand.
At 6S PHYSIO, our core purpose is to make a substantial, positive impact on the health and well-being of our clients. Our story began in 2005 when founder Darren Stuchbery ventured into the physiotherapy realm as Functional Health Solutions on the NSW Central Coast. It was more than just a business—it was a calling that often found Darren commuting from Sydney, dedicating long hours, and fully immersing himself in the community he was growing to serve. In 2007, seizing the opportunity to deepen his commitment, Darren purchased the business, ushering in the era of 6S Health Pty Ltd.
Our foundation started in Gosford, and soon after, we expanded into satellite locations including Toukley, Wyong, Kariong, and Woy Woy. The move was a response to the increasing demand for Exercise Physiologists in the region. This milestone allowed us to broaden our services to include Chiropractic, Naturopathy, and more as the years went on. Although some services were phased out, we honed in on strengthening our offerings in Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Remedial Massage, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, particularly at our Mingara location.
In 2012, another pivotal transformation took place when we revitalised the Ettalong Sports Injury and Physiotherapy. Under our management, it shifted from a mostly third-party practice to one predominantly serving private clients. The quality of our service was undeniable, and so was our passion for helping individuals excel without physical limitations.

Is it just for injuries and pain? Or does it help with other conditions as well?
Acupuncture can be a terrific way of managing musculoskeletal injuries, and our physios, chiro and massage therapists routinely refer patients to Elyse for treatment to assist them in managing injury. But TCM has also been used for centuries to treat a wide variety of health issues, from back pain, sciatica, tendonitis and tight muscles to sinus problems, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, stress, IBS, asthma, insomnia, digestive problems, women health & fertility.
How does it work?
Acupuncture rebalances the body and stimulates it to heal itself. The needles are placed in acupuncture pressure points or trigger points along meridians stimulating healing, promoting circulation, relaxing muscles and much more.
Is the practitioner experienced?
Elyse Murphy has practised TCM for over 7 years. She has a university Bachelor's Degree in TCM and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Australian Natural Therapists Association. After a year of touring the world with her husband, Matt Murphy (endurance athlete extraordinaire), filming Search 4 Hurt, Elyse is settling back in to treatments for her clients on the Central Coast.
When is Elyse available?
Elyse is available Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 6.30pm. Check with 6S Health call 43889944 or call in to the clinic (we are on the same level as the pool, under Mingara’s main reception lobby). If you need help, do it now!
Eight things you want to know about acupuncture and TCM at 6S Health: 1. What will I feel? Do the pins hurt?
Elyse's aim is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. When acupuncture needles are first inserted you will feel a tap, followed by either very little sensation at all, or a dull tight feeling. It is nothing like getting an injection or a needle from a doctor. They are sterile disposable needles that are thrown out after each treatment.
Is Acupuncture recognized by Health Funds?
Yes, Acupuncture is fully recognised as a mainstream form of treatment in fact, the term acupuncturist is now a protected term so only degree qualified practitioners can deliver acupuncture services but do check with your fund.
Is there an alternative to the pins?
Yes, Elyse uses acupressure & other non-invasive TCM techniques to treat those uncomfortable with the thought of needles and with very young children. Elyse is also qualified in the use of herbal medicines & nutritional supplements, so may prescribe these to patients.
How long does a session take?
Your first visit will take around 1.5 hours, as Elyse needs to take the time to understand your health needs, and get a thorough medical history. Subsequent visits will be around 30-45 minutes.
