What is a Family Pet Plan?
As experienced veterinarians, we treat unexpected emergencies with much loved family pets every day, and we know how any emergency can impact the family budget. The Family Pet Plan has been created to assist in these cases. Members of the Family Pet Plan are entitled to a reduction of 30% discount on all consultations, surgery, x-ray, anaesthetics and hospital care. Unlike most pet insurance schemes, it also covers routine procedures like de-sexings and vaccinations.
What is GE Care Credit?
Care Credit is a payment plan which offers greater flexibility in terms of how much and how often instalments are paid. It provides a revolving line of credit that can be used on all pets in your household and their subsequent treatments. Depending on the anticipated cost of treatment, there are 3, 6 or 12 month interest free plans available and a deposit is not required. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and a small establishment fee applies, in addition to monthly account keeping fees.
What is Microchipping?
Microchipping is a safe and permanent form of identification for your pet. Unlike collars & tags, microchips cannot be lost. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice, and is implanted between the shoulder blades by injection. All stray animals which present to the pound, animal shelter or vet clinic are scanned to search for the presence of a microchip. If a microchip has been implanted, the pet can be reunited with their owner. All dogs & cats in Victoria must be implanted.
Can you help my overweight pet?
Overweight pets are predisposed to a variety of ailments and diseases, particularly later in life. Our nurses are highly trained in helping you to help your pet achieve their ideal weight. A weight-loss plan is individually designed for each pet and includes a fully balanced diet and exercise plan so that your pet can lose weight without feeling hungry. Please contact the clinic for more information.
What is your payment policy?
Payment of all services is required on the day of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, Bankcard, Visa, Mastercard and have EFTPOS facilities. Payments can also be made using Ezipay and GE Care Credit
What is PennHip?
PennHip is a specialised screening test for Hip Dysplasia which can be performed at any age. It involves a series of hip radiographs, performed while your dog is under general anaesthesia which determines whether your dog has hip dysplasia, and if so, how severe it potentially can be. There are a limited number of veterinarians in Victoria who are accredited to perform these tests. Our practice is fortunate to have Dr. Simon Drummond and Dr. Lydia Dyas who have both been fully accredited.
How do I apply for GE Care Credit?
Please contact GE Care Credit through their website http://www.carecredit.com.au/Patients/index.html
What is Suprelorin?
Suprelorin is a new drub recently become available as an alternative to male dogs as a form of chemical castration. Suprelorin stops the production of testosterone, and as a result, the dog becomes infertile. The drug is administered as an implant which is placed under the skin between the shoulder blades, like a simple injection. This is effective for a period of six months. Repeat implants can be administered every six months with no adverse reactions, as the implant dissolves with time.
What is Ezipay?
We understand that your pet may require involved veterinary care when you least expect it and when finances are tight. Ezipay is an interested-free payment plan which allows you to spread the payment of your account over a maximum of 6 months. Each instalment is debited directly from your nominated bank account or credit card. There is a small application fee and monthly account keeping fees.
