Class A & B Asbestos Removal

Piccolo Amianto is a licensed and insured provider of Class A and Class B asbestos removal services, equipped to handle friable and non-friable materials. Understanding the type of asbestos present is crucial for determining the appropriate removal method:

Class A License

Allows removing any amount or quantity of asbestos or Asbestos Containing Material (ACM), including friable asbestos, Asbestos Containing Dust (ACD), and non-friable asbestos. Common areas where friable asbestos is found include pipe insulation, rope gaskets, vinyl floor covering and fuse insulation. Friable asbestos, when dry, can be crumbled, pulverised, or reduced to a powder by hand pressure, posing significant health risks if not managed correctly.

Class B License

Permits the removal of non-friable asbestos. Non-friable asbestos is commonly found in corrugated cement sheet roofs, cement sheet eaves, walls, pipes and vinyl floor tiles. Non-friable asbestos still requires careful handling to prevent exposure.

When selecting an asbestos removal company, verifying their credentials and license types is essential to ensure they are qualified for the specific removal project. At Piccolo Amianto, we meet and exceed industry standards, incorporating air monitoring and providing all necessary certifications, including NATA-accredited analysis and reporting, to ensure that every asbestos removal project is conducted safely and efficiently. Our comprehensive approach, from initial assessment to final clearance, guarantees that the job is done right the first time, protecting the health of all involved and minimising future risks.

FAQs

  • How do we contact you?

    Call us at 0419 003 136.

  • What are your business hours?

We are available around the clock on all seven days of the week.

  • What is the difference between friable and nonfriable asbestos?

Friable asbestos materials can be pulverised with hand pressure such as sprayed on limpet materials, lagging around pipes. Non friable is not able to be pulverised by hand pressure such as eave lining in houses, wall and ceiling sheeting sections that are cement bonded asbestos products.

  • What is a visual clearance certificate?

A visual clearance inspection is required by law for all non friable asbestos removals over 10m2 in area and for any friable asbestos removal. This is an on site inspection conducted to make sure all materials have been removed correctly with no residue or visible asbestos remaining in the removal area. A certificate is produced to the client upon completion of the removal.

  • What is a Division 5 Audit?

A Division 5 audit is a non-invasive assessment to identify hazardous materials in an operational workplace. This audit helps to establish an asbestos register, assess risks, and provide recommendations for managing identified hazards. It ensures compliance with WorkSafe and EPA regulations, supporting safe work practices and effective risk management.

  • What is a Division 6 Audit?

A Division 6 audit is required before demolition or refurbishment work begins. This thorough survey identifies and quantifies all hazardous materials, including asbestos, that must be addressed before demolition. It also assesses other hazardous substances, such as Lead and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs). The audit helps control risks and ensures compliance with regulations, reducing potential delays and project costs.

  • Do you handle jobs of all sizes?

Yes, we handle asbestos projects of all sizes. Whether you need removal from a small residential shed or require comprehensive services for government and council projects, Piccolo Amianto is equipped to manage both small and large-scale jobs with the same level of professionalism and care.

  • What should I do if I suspect asbestos on my property?

If you suspect asbestos, contact Piccolo Amianto for a comprehensive assessment. Depending on your needs, we can conduct a Division 5 or Division 6 audit, perform detailed testing and analysis, and provide a clear plan for any necessary remediation. Our team will ensure that any asbestos-related issues are managed safely and effectively.

  • Can you provide a quote for asbestos removal?

Yes, we provide quotes for both residential and commercial asbestos removal. Our quotes are based on a thorough assessment of your property and include all necessary steps to ensure a comprehensive solution. Contact us to arrange an inspection and receive a detailed quote tailored to your needs.
