For all those little DIY things around the house Bunnings is an absolute haven because what ever you need, they'll have it from door knobs, to picture hooks, tools, potting mix, outdoor furniture, brooms, mops, gumboots, seedlings ... it really does have what you need/ want for around the house and garden. The staff are pretty good at helping you get the right thingy-ma-jiggy, too. The Hawthorn Bunnings is extremely convenient with parking underneath, plus a tram and train station just around the corner and like ever Bunnings around they have fundraising sausage sizzles on the weekend. What's not to like?

PRIME TIME LOCATION
Do you watch apocalypse movies? You know the drill, whitish colours, lots of dust, bits of wood everywhere and no people- that is often how I feel in some of the old Bunnings stores.
Especially the people bit! Am i the only person that thinks all the Bunning employees must be off trying to fit in to those little blocks to make their ads because you never see a red aproned person in store?
Well, now the good news. Hawthorn Bunnings isn't like that. Its light, its bright and they must have trucked in all the staff from those other branches, because they are everywhere.
This store gets it right.

I love Bunnings. The hawthorn store does have a lot of the things I need, including an outdoor nursery. It isnt a superstore so doesnt have quite the same range especially in timber. Staff can be busy, but once you find someone they are all friendly and helpful.
TIP: The car pack can get very busy on weekends. Just head straight down to the lower level car park and there is always plenty of room there.
