FAQs

  • Where are you located?

We are located at 49 Rushdale Street, Knoxfield Victoria 3180.

  • What industries do you cater to?

Today Plaskona serves a wide number of industries, including medical and safety, automotive OE and aftermarket, public transport, commercial furniture, and general manufacturing. Some examples of the wide variety of products produced, are illustrated in the products pages of the website.

  • Thermoplastic Injection Moulding

In most cases injection moulding is used for the production of thin walled articles of varying sizes in large quantities. The products are formed by injecting plastic material in a fluid state and under high pressure, through a runner system into the cavity of a closed mould. Injection moulding is basically a one operation process and is widely used for all kinds of common replicas louis vuitton and engineering plastics, including thermoplastic rubbers.

  • Rotational Moulding

Used for making small hollow articles such as balls and technical products. In this process hollow moulds have measured quantities of plastic raw material rotated against the inner walls. The moulds are alternately heated and cooled. As a result of moving the hot moulds on two axis, the plastic melts to a uniformly thick layer, forming the required shape in the mould.

  • Fire Retardant Products

Plaskona produces a range of polyurethane foam products designed specifically for the public transport industry. These include fire retardant foams which meet international standards and patented vandal resistant seating currently in use in public transport in a number of Australian states.

  • Reaction Injection Moulding

Used for the production of small and large components, particularly when small and medium production runs are required. The result is tough, flexible, thin sections with surfaces suitable for painting. The polyurethane RIM process takes place via the rapid injection of a mixture of reactive components into a closed mould. RRIM typically uses fillers such as short glass fibres which are dispersed in the polyol component of the mix and serves to control shrinkage and dimensional stability.

  • Polyurethane Foam Moulding

This process includes high and low density, flexible, rigid, semi-rigid and self-skinning foams. Its application in the production of cellular plastic components is used extensively in the production of a wide range of products, for example energy absorbing padding and cushioning for vehicles and furniture. The polyurethane foam moulding process takes place via the rapid injection of a mixture of polyol, isocyanate and catalyst into a mould.
