Eastern Palace Chinese Restaurant

I dont think there are many yum cha places in this area. We live in the inner east so we are not familiar with what other competitors there are in this area. We have been here a couple of times with friends and this seems to be their favourite place. I like it but dont love it.
The favourite dish is the salted chicken and squid which is very tasty, but probably a little too salty and unhealthy. However their custard bun is fantastic! Its probably one of the better custard buns in all of Melbourne. There seems to be a limit to how many custard buns they make each session though (but perhaps it is because its in such high demand that they run out quickly). Other food items are okay, above average but not super excellent compared to some of the other popular yum cha places elsewhere.
