Bluetrain

Blue Train Cafe has been one of the key tenants of Southgate for a long long time, and amazingly its barely changed the whole time. Its somewhere Ive always enjoyed, and often serves as a fall back place when were in the area looking for somewhere to eat and cant think of where to go.

The food is usually of a good standard and with good sizes serves. They feature modern style cuisine like woodfired pizza, burgers, pastas, asian fusion. The vibe is funky, with cool staff and music playing, and the massive balcony is great to dine out on for a nice evenings meal overlooking the Yarra.

I have had a couple of lunches here and one dinner before a movie. It is really cram them in and move them out sort of place. The food was OK but I felt like they wanted the table when I had finished and felt that I could not linger and enjoy the company.
