I accompanied a group of 10 for lunch at Magpies last week. Three of us bought dishes from the Asian kitchen which contained sliced beef. The meat was very gristly, and I suffered the embarrassment of having to take partly chewed meat out of my mouth and leave on the plate, because the gristle made it inedible. The other two people also had trouble eating the meat, and left some on the plate. The boiled rice that accompanied the dishes was not aromatic and fluffy, but tasteless and crusty, as if it has been made some time ago and refrigerated.
We didn't expect a 5 star meal at the club, but surely your patrons can expect that the food should be reasonably palatable and pleasant to eat - not the unpleasant experience that we endured.
I emailed a letter of complaint to the manager, but didn't receive a reply or acknowlegement the letter had been received.
