All senior coaches are fully accredited in accordance with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics ACT standards.
The Southern Canberra Gymnastics Club (SCGC) was formed on 14 December 1982 by a group of parents who then had children attending a private gymnastics club. The club was formed with some 60 gymnasts and five coaches and was incorporated on 18 April 1983 with classes at Erindale and Stirling colleges and at Wanniassa High School.
Our aim is to provide the opportunity for our community to experience the benefits of gymnastics, through high-quality programs, facilities, services and coaching.

We currently provide programs in the following Gymsports: Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) General Gymnastics and Kindergym (GG) Trampoline Sports (TRP)

What are the benefits of gymnastics?
Gymnastics physically and mentally prepares children for all sports and is extremely beneficial in their personal development. It develops coordination, strength, flexibility and quickness, while it promotes concentration skills and self-discipline in the young child.
Do I have to stay for the lesson?
No, only Kindergym classes require parent participation. You are most welcome to stay and watch your child but it is not a requirement.
Does my child require special clothing for his/her class?
No, your child does not need any special clothing to participate in classes. The only requirement is bare feet inside the gym. The club does have a range of leotards available for purchase should you wish.
On which approach is the Schools Gymnastics Program based on?
The Schools Gymnastics Program is based on a general gymnastics approach that is fun, challenging and fundamental for a child’s growth and development.
Can I enrol my child at any time during the term/year?
Yes, you can enrol your child at any time during the term/year. Fees are worked out on a pro-rata basis for families that start part way through the term.
