Is there a risk with anaesthetics?
Every anaesthetic carries a potential risk to the patient. However, we take every precaution to minimise the risks factors. Patients are offered pre-anaesthetic blood testing to look for underlying medical conditions before surgery commences. The anaesthetics we use have a short half-life and are cleared from the body quickly. Surgical patients are monitored with pulse oximiters and a respiratory Apalert during their procedures and an anaesthetic record is kept on file for future reference.
Will my pet feel pain with the surgery?
Pain during surgical procedures is kept to a minimum with the use of analgesics given before surgery. Anti-inflammatory can be given following surgery to hasten recover and reduce the chance of pain when our patients go home. We monitor all anaesthetics and record the heart and respiration rates to detect I patient require more pain control during a procedure.
How long do the sutures stay in after my pet's surgery?
Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed in 10-14 days following the surgery. There is no charge for this service.
What is the pre-anaesthetic blood screening?
This is a blood test that is run by the clinic prior to surgery. It tests the organ functions, blood counts and clotting function of your pet. The pre-anaesthetic blood screening is done to assure safety during surgery and the ability to heal following surgery.
Do I need to have an appointment?
Yes, patients are seen by appointment, although emergencies are seen ASAP or immediately.

A well polished, money making, disorganised mess with friendly staff. Propped up by unnecessary waiting, visits, delays, and dispensing fees. Was initially good but 3 out of the 4 last visits there have been issues. I dropped my cat off on a Friday morning to get a dental clean and some teeth removed, received a call about 3pm to say that they hadn't even started it due to emergency surgeries and that they would need to keep her overnight after late surgery, had to pick her up the following morning. Took her in for a complimentary post surgery checkup and was told to come in and pickup some antibiotics if an infection was suspected. Went on a Saturday morning to pickup antibiotics and requested some loxicam to go with it as she was out. This visit lasted about 25 mins due to it being busy and someone arrived after me being served before me. The next week I made a booking for 9:45 am, arrived on time, stood in the consultation room with my cat waiting for the vet, someone else came in and apologised for them running late due to puppy vacinations occuring in the room nextdoor, the vet came in at 10:20 am (35 mins late), had to ask twice for antibiotics despite the vet saying that the infection was still settling down. Left the vet at 10:30 am (45 mins after arriving) with very few antibiotic tablets (2 days), loxicam and the usual $20 dispensing fees slapped on for a few dollars worth of tablets. The staff apologised and said that they are getting busier, but this does nothing to resolve the issues or make me confident there won't be issues moving forward.

I had a horse get a vet check from this clinic, in which the vet made an assumption of the horse without even knowing the horse due to horse being an ott. Very unprofessional to accuse the horse as being unsafe especially 1. Not knowing the horse at all & 2. That the horse stood perfectly & did not bat an eye lid with everything he done with him while poking & prodding him for the health check, horse give no reason to assume he was anything other then quiet. He was there to do a health check on the horse, not check his suitability. Which I would of happily saddled up & put my 13yo daughter on seen they are the 1s that ride the horse daily. But due to being an ott this vet has labelled him as something this horse is not & the sale of the horse falling through
