We offer a range of specialist programs such as inclusion support, cultural integration & an innovative Early Start program.

West Bathurst Preschool Inc. manages two preschool services and offers high quality education and care for up to 160 children each week. We are a community based not for profit organisation where parents are involved in the running and management of the service, giving you the opportunity to have input into your child’s education in their preschool years. With 3 large playrooms, West Bathurst Preschool can take 60 children each day aged from 3 years of age to school commencement age. West Bathurst Preschool offers a variety of classes ranging from two to three days. EarlyStart Kelso Preschool offers education and care two days a week to 20 children who are referred by other agencies in the community. Each of the preschool’s classes offer a group with consistent educators enabling children to establish strong and caring relationships with both their carers and their peers.

West Bathurst Preschool Inc. is a not for profit community based organisation that commenced operation in 1974. It is an incorporated body that is run by a Management Committee consisting of parents. They are responsible for the overall management, employment of staff, and ensuring the preschool meets all its licencing and legal obligations.West Bathurst Preschool is licensed and funded by the NSW Department of Education and Communities. The Director, Vanessa Miller is the Nominated Supervisor and is responsible for the day to day running and management of the centre.In 1992 the preschool bought land and built the current building in Wark Parade. In 2011 an additional classroom and office and meeting space were added on to the existing premise to open up more places for children in their year prior to school and to meet the demands of the growing community. West Bathurst Preschool is licensed for 60 children a day, educating children from 3 to 5 years of age.In 2008 West Bathurst Preschool Inc. established Early Start Kelso Preschool and Family Centre, an outreach service at Kelso for 20 children aged from 3 to 5 years living in severely disadvantaged circumstances. Early Start Kelso Preschool has a separate license and operates for 2 days per week, Tuesday and Thursday. Children enter this preschool by referral and the program is low cost. Premises are rented from Bathurst Regional Council.

Does the preschool open in school holidays?

West Bathurst Preschool closes during the NSW gazetted school holiday periods.


Is all the staff qualified?

West Bathurst Preschool has above the minimum requirement for university trained teachers. Every child attending preschool will have a university trained teacher leading the class. All other staff are either Diploma or Certificate III trained in early childhood related fields.


Can I claim child care benefit for preschool fees?

West Bathurst preschool is 'registered care'. Families using registered care are entitled to the minimum rate of child care benefit for a maximum of 50 hours of care per child per week, but are not entitled to the child care tax rebate. To claim this money, take your preschool receipts to the Family Assistance Office to make a claim.
