Do you charge a service call?
If we come to you the price quoted includes the 'service call fee'. It is necessary to charge a callout or service call fee to cover the cost and time of attending site and providing service. We will let you know the full cost prior to attending.
What is a transponder key?
Most vehicles manufactured from 1995 onwards have been fitted with an immobilisation system to stop theft. The transponder fitted in the key transmits data to the vehicle. When the key is inserted in the ignition, the transponder sends a signal to the engine control unit, if the signal is recognized by the vehicle the engine will start.
Why should you hire a Master Locksmith?
On The Spot Locksmiths is a member of the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia and as members we are bound by the MLAA Code of Conduct. All of our staff are fully qualified and have police and working with children clearances. We hold Public Liability Insurance $20,000,000 and SafeWork SA insurance.

Do you fit and repair locks?
We fit all types of locks to houses, offices, safes and cars. We have locks to suit all applications including gates, motor bikes, shipping containers and more.
When should I call a locksmith?
We provide a full range of Locksmith services. If you are locked out, we can open the door without causing any damage, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We can also change existing locks to suit a new key without the need of expensive lock replacement. We are always happy to offer advice on any home or office security needs, just give us a call.
Can I get a key that no-one else can get cut?
Yes, it is called a 'restricted key profile' and allows you to control key access. We keep your signature on record and will only provide new keys with your written permission. For example If you give your cleaner a key to access your property, with a standard key they could get another key cut without you knowing. With a restricted system they would not be able to get a key cut, so you can have peace of mind knowing that only the people you trust to have a key have one.
Do you have WHS written procedures?
Yes, we are committed to providing a safe working environment for all of our workers and clients. We have written procedures, Safe Work Method Statements are provided for all high risk tasks and all workers conduct a Job Safety Analysis prior to commencing all work.
I have a bunch of keys, can I have one key to suit the whole house?
Yes, we can key alike all of your locks to suit just one key. We can even master key your locks to allow you access to all areas and restrict access to some that you don't want the house cleaner or gardener to access.

The first two interactions were professional, but they didn't have the parts to do the job. They asked me to get the parts and got a quote for the job.
On the day of the job, the price was 72% more, and I asked about the discrepancy. The older gentleman got angry and threatened to take back the chip from the key. I felt hurt and upset by the whole interaction. I hope he learns to be professional and kind. I wish him well.
