My sister went to Steedform and was very impressed with their service and benchtops, so I decided to go with them. When I first went into their store we were served by Jennifer who fobbed us off. So we went a second time and got served by her again this time she was helpful. She said that the island bench would fit into one slab no cuts, I said I was told that it wouldn't by others but she assured me it would and sent me a picture. Then a week later I got a call to say it won't fit., so I had to have the edges cut. We ordered and was told it would be ready in two weeks. I didn't hear from them so I called after two and a half weeks. Jennifer said I was just about to call u?.. They came and installed the following week but one of the bench tops was too small so they had to make another one. I spoke to the workshop guy Ken who said that they will have it ready by the end of the week. I said to him don't hurry it, no pressure, just make sure the next one is done properly. The following week the guys bought the second one which was long enough but didn't fit the wall and the 40ml on the back came off so they had to glue that on and they said they had to cut, I said I couldn't watch so when they had finished making the cutting noise I went to look, I couldn't believe that they had cut my wall and not the bench. I was gob smacked. They said it was better to cut the wall and you won't see it when your splashback goes on. Not the point I said. If I had of known you were going to cut the wall I would of said to take it back to the workshop and fix it. I spoke to Ken in the workshop who said sometimes they have to cut the wall??? I since have spoken to the office manager who was very nice and sincere and said she will let management know of my situation. She also dropped off a stone care pack. Overall the experience with Steedform was very disappointing. Hopefully they fix all these problems so other people don't go through this.
