My wife, her sister and I rang for a cab to pick us up from my nephew's home in Inala to our home in Highgate Hill (Brisbane) this evening (at 9pm). One Midle-East looking/sounding driver showed up. We were using a cab charge card so I asked him straight away if he would be ok with cab charge, which he said yes. However, he also told us to pay in advance because "in the evening, taxi drivers can ask for payment in advance", he said. He wanted us to pay $61.70 for the trip while I knew that the fare should only be around $50. I told him I would only pay the metered amount once we got to our destination, and not before. The driver then tried to tell me that his company's policy allowed him to take a deposit for trips at night like this, and he would pay me back any money in excess of the correct fare. I said if he wanted deposit then I wouldn't pay him in advance the full amount of $61.70 while I knew the fair should only be around $50. I also knew that he wouldn't, and couldn't, refund me any money to my cab charge at destination. By that time, the cab had already gone around 200m away from where he picked us up. He insisted for payment in advance so I told him to take us back to where he picked us up, which he did. I then rang Yellow cabs again for another cab. This time, 20 minutes later, an Asian looking/sounding driver showed up. He was courteous and ok with our cab charge. We arrived at destination at 22:04, the fare was $51.60 (as I expected). It became very clear that the first driver, the Middle East looking/sounding guy, was trying to rip us off. I rang Yellow Cabs straight away after we got home to lodge a complaint. The customer service guy basically did his best to cover up for the attempt by the first driver to rip us off. He kept saying that there's nothing wrong with what that driver was doing, blah blah. My conclusion is Yellow Cabs as the company doesn't care about their customers at all. Their customer services is rude and simply there to protect the interests of the company. I will never use Yellow Cabs again and hope that people can see this review and stay away from them.

I waited 45minutes in Wynnum, with my three year old, and ten year old. Until we got this driver. I was got a couple of phone calls in the cab, and as I was calling the person, my three year old did the UNSPEAKABLE..... She put her feet on the seat. Wow. It's terrible isn't it. Taxi driver screamed at my toddler, then at me because I "was distracted on my phone". Avoid Rajesh, in a silver service 4wd, mainly in Wynnum I think.

The Silver Service cab arrived promptly. Took the direct route to my destination. On the way, the driver was subjected to a verbal onslaught from us the passengers as one of us had just had 2 molars removed under local anaesthetic of 4-5 injections. This passenger apologises for her not being able to stop talking!!! Thanks for your patience!!!

Patient waited 2 hours for a cab, ordered 3 times. Phoned to enquire, was told abruptly another one was being dispatched and hung up before I could speak. Ordered B&W, arrived within 5 mins. Yellow cab finally arrives and we politely advise the patient had left with B&W, shook his head, wound up his window and drove off. Appalling service for our elderly patients.

Great service. Polite driver who got me to Brisbane airport on time at an early hour.

Left my frail 85yr old mother standing on the footpath for an hour even tho a cab was booked and follow up calls made. Lots of promises. Never did show up. Thank God for kind helpful neighbours.
Never will call them again.

I would definitely recommend yellow cabs over most other cab companies. On time (actually, usually early), friendly drivers, reasonable prices (as reasonable as cabbies can be).
