AAMI

Over the course of 8 months, I faced incessant harassment and unrelenting requests to settle a car accident claim, which was estimated to be valued at approximately $30,000. Aami, the insurance company involved, held onto my car for an extensive period of 7 months, continuously demanding interviews and an overwhelming amount of supporting documentation, including bank statements, credit card statements, and government summaries. Regrettably, despite fulfilling all their demands, my claim was ultimately denied. Based on my distressing experience, I strongly advise to stay away of AAMI, which I believe to be the worst insurance company in Australia, along with the entire SUNCORP group.

Basically we had AAMI as a business insurance for a beauty clinic. We thought we were insuring our beauty machines under machinery as anyone in the industry calls them "beauty machines". A machine broke down and surprisingly they say that beauty equipment is supposed to be covered under electronic equipment and not machinery. When you sign up for the insurance no one really explains which section of the policy meets your needs or anything else. They just send you the policy disclosure statement where you need to be a lawyer or an engineer to fully understand it. To sum we were able to claim only 1/5 of the value of the machine, obviously we disputed it but they said the policy is clear. We are cancelling the insurance right away, well done AAMI.
