Any Zoo choosing to sell ice-creams containing palm oil (the harvesting of which results in death and destruction of primates and their habitat) over a local iconic S.A. made product that has been around for 100 years DOES NOT DESERVE TO HOLD THE PRECIOUS LIVES OF ANIMALS IN ITS HANDS!!!
That palm oil is even allowed into Australia is utterly despicable, and for an institution who caretakes animals, some of which are the very species whose lives are lost as a result of harvesting such product, is beyond despicable, it just beggars belief!!!

I love the zoo; it has changed a lot since I was there last. The new entrance is very modern but the old one gave you a sense going into the unknown jungle where the animals live. Please someone fix the poor vertical wall of plants at the entrance. Please have it redone properly this time. Now onto the zoo - great place for young or old. Wheel chair hire was great only $5.00. I put mum in one and off we went. Saw the pandas behind their glass enclosure though they werent doing much just sleeping. I couldnt get over the size of the old trees, they were just magnificent. We had lunch there but its not real cheap but we needed to have something after all that walking around. After all that we had a great day.
