Ross Lawyers

Went to these people to get advice about buying a business, was charged $440 for 45 minutes only to listen to the lady pratel on about nothing to extend the time and I walked out of there more confused than when I walked in. If they are going to charge you the time spent there the meeting needs be productive and to the point not as a social meeting. Not impressed.

A few years ago I purchased a property using Ross. I assumed they would know the fundamentals of purchasing a property. At the time I was a novice at buying property and unfortunately they took advantage of this. When filling out the documents they casually asked my if I wanted to sit in one of their offices to fill out the paperwork as it would be quiet. I took up the offer. A young girl sat with me. We chatted a bit and a few questions I asked she could not answer. Later I found out I was charged for the 1 1/2 hrs I was there. I was disgusted. I should have at least been told it was billable.

Since that time, I am just about to start some renovations and asked Ross to send me the plans they received at purchase. There were no building plans. I have since acquired them from council (easily I might add). Turns out my advertised 4 bedroom property was only ever a 3 bedroom dwelling. As my Lawyer I would expect them to advise me of this prior to purchase. Now I am up for some hefty planning and renovations due to this over-site. Do not use these lawyers, even for the simple tasks.

This firm/childcare daycare center for Lawyers is a disgrace to Austrialia. These people will take your money and just throw it against the wall. They have no concept nor brains behind how the system actually works. They lure you in like you’ve got a really good case, ask for a very large deposit and it’s literally gone overnight, then all of a sudden...

I am currently using this firm for a second time. The first time was for a family matter I was so happy with the service and price. Jane was so professional I have just returned to the firm for a real estate matter, now a month on I could not be happier with Jane and the team .

My husband and I recently used Ross Lawyers to draw up our wills - not only did we find them efficient and professional with vast experience, we found them to be genuinely caring. We felt valued and supported as they took the time to explain procedures and policies. I would recommend this great firm to anyone. Wonderful team work ladies.

We have used Ross Lawyers on numerous occasions to assist in the purchase of property and business. The transactions were always smooth and we were kept informed through out the whole process. I would urge anyone needing legal assistance or representation to look no further than Ross Lawyers. The firm is a local family owned and run business in Townsville.

Extremely unqualified. Hired the firm to represent my interest in property dispute with my ex-husband. He was not cooperating and they kept sending him letter after letter and charging me for it. They even charged me court fees, even though later I found out that as I had a concession card I did not have to pay any. In the end they charged me $22,000 for no real progress in my case and I had to finish the case by representing my own interests. When I asked them to stop representing me as I could not possibly to keep up with the fees, all I got was a bill in the mail. No conversation about options, nothing. They kept charging me interest until I paid it off in full and only released all the documents then. Also when I went to pick up my documents they did not brief me on what has being done, nothing at all. Before I hired them I advised them that I am in a difficult financial situation, but all they did charged me through the roof for absolutely useless services. Do not hire the firm for anything!!! After I talked around I found out that my friend also employed then for representing her interests in child arrangement case after she split from her husband, and she said that they provided her with the worst possible advice. I am leaving this review here in the hope that others will not be victims of this very poorly qualified firm and will not loose insane amount of money in difficult circumstances for nothing. If I knew what their services were like, I would never engaged them in the first place. But when you are in situation when you are under a lot of stress, you hope that your solicitors will help you, but instead this firm turned already difficult situation for me in an absolute nightmare. I also later found out that the woman who was the main person sending out emails to my ex-husband now works in an admin position at University - cannot not be too qualified then. I repeat, do not engage the firm for anything!
