If your washing machine has stopped working, you will need to call a washing machine repair service. But how soon can you expect to see a technician?

Same day service – sometimes

Most appliance repair services – including washing machine repairs – will advertise a same day service; with a couple of disclaimers. So, in general, if you live in a major town or city and you call first thing in the morning, you will probably see someone that day. Sometimes it can be even quicker than that – it all depends on how busy the repair service is when you call them.

Same day service disclaimers:

• Same day will usually mean within the same 24 hour period – so if you don’t call until 4pm you probably won’t see someone until the next day.
• Same day service does not always mean repaired on the same day as well, as your washing machine may have serious problems that need longer to fix.
• Replacement parts may not be immediately available for your washing machine, if it is an old or unusual machine.
• Distance to travel is too great for same day service. This one is self-explanatory and probably no surprise for anyone who lives in a small town.

Of course, if you live out of town, or are calling for after hours or weekend service, the case may be very different.
