THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE OLIVE BREAD

Boccaccio's is a schizophrenic business at times. I can honestly say that I have never actually done my weekly shopping there. Its slightly dingy, there are broken tiles on the floor and the staff are less than enthusiastic as they go about their day.

With that out of the way, there are hidden gems at Boccaccio beyond the convenience of a corner store supermarket. I pick the eyes out of this store and leave the carcass behind. Their meat section is excellent, and always tasty; the bakery goods are unfailingly fresh and the olive bread is a world beater and their cheeses more than competent

In a neighbourhood of regeneration, you can't help feeling there lies an opportunity for Boccaccio. We are fast becoming a gourmet nation in Australia and this area is primed for a gourmet grocer. Just saying...
