Poor communication. Poor service. Pointless $700 spent.

Contacted Kerr’s as they were the locally listed repairer for the fridge I had. When I contacted them initially it was all good. I spent just under $600 repairing the ice maker as per the suggestion by the mechanic. I was told this would fix things and to wait for a reset within 24 hours. There was no improvement. It barely made any ice. He then came and had a look after I hassled them about it not working still. He got another replacement unit under warranty for the first one, no improvement again. He then suggested I had chased them down again, that it was the heater unit that heats the line. After once again not getting answers back, I finally got Mark on the phone and tried to have a frank conversation are the fact I didn’t really want to spend any more money because it wasn’t making things better. He discussed that he would simply charge me the cost of the part, which I agreed to reluctantly. I really didn’t think it was worth spending more money on trying to fix.

It didn’t fix it once again and no matter how I tried to contact them my calls and emails were not returned. Then they attempted to charge me for labour against his word. The communication has been poor and frustrating. If you aren’t chasing them down, they just don’t get back to you. Now I am besting chases to pay for something I didn’t want to do, that did nothing to repair my freezer and a freezer that is still not producing much ice. $700 I could have spent on a new fridge instead of this situation. No contact. No apology. Their own bookkeeper cannot get them to do the right thing and contact me about the situation.



An honest conversation about whether the freezer could be repair was required right from the start. I would have bought a bench top ice maker.

Trustworthy Cmpany

I recently used Kerr's when my 9 year old Fridge stopped working. It turned out that the problem was quite a drama which eventually resulted in the required part no longer being avail able to fix the fridge. Thanks to the support and expertise I received from this company with warranty claims etc I was able get a very satisfactory outcome to my problem. From this experience I would recommend them as a highly trustworthy and competent company and I will definitely use them again as really good appliance serving companies are hard to find.
