Classic Cabins

I wanted a cabin built on my property to use as an art studio. The reps from Classic Cabins (CC) seemed to know what they were doing so I chose to go with them. My block was steep so I was told they'd need to get a land engineer and other reports to clarify the footing depths and provide the Council with required info. That seemed reasonable, so I paid for these reports to be done. From then on the project was a complete debacle! MONTHS down the track the reports were furnished, but a significant one was incorrect. There were no progress updates given to me throughout these lengthy delays - it was left up to me to call CC to find out what, if anything, was going on. I followed up many times but often my calls/messages went unanswered. Almost a year down the track I had seen no building plans for the studio itself, nothing had been submitted to Council for building approval, yet I had paid CC over $10,000. I escalated the issues to CC's manager and was told all was fine, my job was "in the pipeline". However, things did not improve and eventually the lack of professionalism and communication became too much. I lost faith. I advised CC that I would not continue with the build and, naturally, requested a refund. Weeks later (after follow-ups by me, of course) they sent me an email with figures that indicated I OWED them money! Yep, I am not joking! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
