Outside the door was a sign saying max 12 people in the shop. There were only five people inside so I said we could move on. A woman at the door told me that they had reduced the number to 5 . I said it does not take much to change the sign but she then carried on about getting up early to serve as a volunteer so I could get free food. She then physically and verbally assaulted me trying to grab my card. That woman has always been rude, unfriendly, impatient, arrogant, and completely devoid of human empathy. While I have benefitted from free food, I have given them herbs from garden for others to enjoy. Being poor dos not give volunteers reason or cause to abuse and assault us. Her fellow staff supported her and removed her to a staff only area. No one spoke to me or apologised so I can only assume that they too have the same attitude towards we poor folk. Does the food bank enable them to feel superior ?
