Mark Holstein Concreting

Had garage floor laid over existing concrete.

Same price as other quotes but he seemed nice so went with him. He also said to be careful as there are some dodgy contractors around !!

Left me with:

- 100mm high 90° edge that he said would be fine to drive on. We had talked about a slope/ramp and he was well aware it is a garage. Tried to talk to him about it but he wasn't interested, just told me to put crusher dust against it (wouldn't wash away ??), get someone to make something up or try Bunnings.

- Bulging edge that we discussed and he agreed to brace up but didn't so I have a lump along the side which the carpenter will have to deal with.

- Stones and concrete in the MIDDLE of the lawn - not somewhere inconspicuous - and on the nature strip, where, I assume, tools were cleaned.

- Large lumps of waste concrete dumped on/near plants and garden beds.

- Piles of leftover fill that I was told I could 'shovel up against the concrete or use in garden beds'.

- Cigarette butts on the driveway.

- No interest in ensuring I was happy with the result and no care or respect for my property.

I always pay my bills on time but didn't this time (because of the issues) and received a phone call at 630am demanding to know when the 'way overdue' invoice would be paid. Was actually 1 business day overdue but I did pay him that day. Wanted to make him wait but I also understand that small businesses run on a tight budget.

Have emailed to express my disappointment and, of course, no response. Who cares about customer care and satisfaction when he has his money.

Disappointing.
