I went to lunch with some girlfriends on Monday the 8 th. the food was delicious and the people from the kitchen were delightful.however the sole batman who had next to no one to serve was unenthusiastic, made me wait a number of different occasions to be served with no other customers wanting service and at one stage I waited so long with no one at the bar and I wandered to the kitchen seeing him with his arms folded and laughing with the kitchen staff. When I knocked and asked politely to be served he put two fingers up - as in wait two more minutes, chatted some more then took out two rounds of meals to customers which clearly could have been done bye kitchen staff who were not doing anything else. He gave the distinct impression that he was"way to cool for school" and behaved like he was working in some exclusive club in the city. I have worked in hospitality and customer service all my life, and staff like this, that cannot give a little enthusiastic and friendly service to a few customers that come in on a quiet day, do not deserve to be employed. There are a lot of people looking for jobs and can work hard and make money for their employer. Being a little handsome and a lot of Tatts does not necessarily make a good batman. We three, are all locals and have lunch out often with friends during the week, the Cornish gas great food and is very local to us, but this service put a very bad taste in our mouths.

Large menu that caters for everyone, from meat eaters, to vegos, to those who go gluten free.

The vegan 'steak sandwich' is the best... Mock duck seitan, cheezly and eggplant chips. YUM.

The staff are super helpful and friendly.

Thursday night is the best night to go, as they have trivia. The host is hilarious, the atmosphere is ace and the questions are actually decent! They have booze prizes throughout the four rounds, so be sure to come with a witty team name and you might even score a free jug! Booking is reccommend, it does get busy.

I love the Cornish. It's easily the best pub in Melbourne.

At first glance you can easily mistake this for one of those horrible chain pubs, but look a little further and you'll find a great pub. A good size beer gardens sits out the back with an outdoor bar offering little creatures beers and some ciders. They also regularly put on live music and the food specials are pretty good!
