Barnacle Bill's Seafood Inn

I returned to Cairns on my 45th birthday with my 10 year old son to re-capture my youth. We decided to redo the day I had done to celebrate my 20th birthday here :-) We had a fabulous day at Green island and headed for dinner at Barnacle Bills. Thre manager is the person that showed us to our table and when I told him about my 25th anniversary day in Cairns it was met with a miserable grunt. No 'Happy Birthday' no 'Welcome back' nothing. We ordered. It looked 90 minutes for my overcooked Barramundi with undercooked prawns to arrive. During those 90 minutes, my son began to feel ill. When his food finally arrived we requested to take it to go and were denied. We requested to see a manager as he had not taken 1 bite. We requested to speak to the manager. After waiting 20 minutes- I informed the server if we had to wait much longer, my son was going to start vomiting on the surrounding tables. 5 minutes later the manager showed up with a scowl and said well he hadn't ordered the food- we had, and and we needed to pay for all of the food even though my son had not taken a bite. He was atrociously rude to both my son and I. I said that I would gladly pay for all of it- just needed a piece of foil to take it with us. He said that it was not some cheap takeaway and that we could pay our entire bill and leave. In my 45 years I have NEVER experienced rudeness and atrocious customer service like we did here. Plus my food was AWFUL. I paid the $100 bill for my overcooked fish & the food that my son was unable to take a bite of but do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The staff is by far the rudest people we have encountered in all of Australia :-(
