We traveled as a couple and picked up from Cairns for the iconic drive down to Sydney. What an adventure! It was the perfect home on wheels and the staff at Cairns were great. They have a lot of useful road trip information on their website. Price-wise, everything is covered. You don’t pay extra to reduce your insurance excess. Everyone gets a low excess of $500. All road tolls are covered and there is no one-way fee for dropping the van off at another depot. It was little savings like this that made Camperman the best deal.

WORST customer service on the face of the planet!!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! It is a complete scam and will leave you wishing you had spent the extra money for a better company. They gave us a horrible run down car that looked nothing like the photos online. It's a car that should have been taken out of rotation 5 years ago! Moldy and smelled like chemicals. The person at the shop lied to us and said our original car got into an accident the day prior and that's why we got the back up but when we spoke to the owner he said that wasn't true. We wanted to return it after having it for a few hours because it was unbearable to think we're going to spend 2 weeks in that unacceptable car. They told us no refund if we did that since we took it off the lot. The owner was very mean to us on the phone and didn't even try to show compassion. We ended up taking it back and going with a different company which was a million times better and just a little more expensive but SO worth it. We were fighting for weeks trying to get our money back with no luck. We would have gone to court had we not had to leave Australia.

Would definitely recommend camperman, staff were really helpful, the campervan we had which was the 5 birth with the shower and toilet was clean and come with all the necessary utensils. Thoroughly enjoyed our adventure.

Great campervan, great trip. We picked up the standard 3 berth model in Adelaide, where the staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. We took the long route via the coast to Melbourne and although the camper wasnt the latest model, it was well serviced and never missed a beat. Fully stocked with enough saucepans etc at a good price! And flexible dropoff options on Sundays. Thanks Camperman great value.

We picked up the van in Melbourne. It was dirty and we discovered a lot of things wrong with it.
1. Only one gas ring worked. We had to buy a small camping gas ring and 3 cylinders in order to cook a meal. A copy was made of the receipt. The gas ran out before the end of our holiday, even though we had only been using one ring. The screw on the gas bottle kept coming loose as we were driving. Potentially dangerous.
2. The interior lights around the mirror were poor. One didn't work at all, and one seemed to have a loose connection, and no proper switch. It was hit or miss whether it lit up or not.
3. There was a constant smell of oil, and we had to buy oil in order to top up.
4.The plate in the microwave was too big, causing it to make a terrible racket.
5. Knobs keep falling off the fridge, and a large drawer opposite the fridge.
6.Cupboard doors kept opening in transit, even though they were locked.
7. The set of drawers under the sink was falling apart.
8. The table couldn't be tightened, and kept swinging around. We were unable to use it in the proper position.
9. Curtains kept falling off the windows, due to broken or missing hooks.
10. The main compartment door inner panel was coming off, and held on by one screw!
11.The floor trim near the step was coming away, and the step was soft and pulpy.
12. The window seals let in the rain even though the windows were shut. We had to stay 2 nights in a cabin because the bedding cushions were soaked.
13. The "door open" light on the dashboard was constantly lit up, as was the light that warned of engine problems.
We reported our concerns to an [name removed], who said he would get someone out to fix things. We heard no more.
When we returned the van to Melbourne I was advised to email Camperman sales immediately, listing all these problems. I sent 2 emails and received no acknowledgement let alone a reply.
Avoid this company. I wish we had.

I would put "zero star" if it would be possible!!!

Some words can sumup our experience with CAMPERMAN: rude people, unsafe, worn tires, electrical issues, bad equipements, pointless seeling bags, roof leakage.

I rent a Family with shower in last July. I regret it and I should have should an alternative...

First, people were rude when I picked up the vehcile, and they didn't want to change the worn Tires which were almost at the legal limit... I had to drive 3000 km and didn't feel confortable. The campervan hosted ants, and we discovered a roof leakage the first night!!! Great!!! We had to go back to switch the Vehicle, and it wasn't obvious as we had to negociate 3 hours to get another one. The other one didn't have roof leak, but electrical issues which fused at least 4 times the stop light...

Don't waste your money and don't endanger your familly with this company!!!

We enjoyed a part our our Australian trip with our Family 5. It was comfy, even if the top may be a bit low for big guys like us. Nice staff at drop on & drop off, plus after the rental for details. Super prices. Thank you for this rental !

AWESOME TIME!!!!!!
i rented a campervan for 2 weeks in August from Melbourne to Sydney. The campervan was clean, comfortable and came accessorised well. It was a great experience for a first time campervan rental. The staff were lovely and helped us with any questions that we had. It was a great substitute to Hotels and Motels because there was a functioning kitchen, toilet and shower that was spacious for such a small van. As it was the middle of winter it was quite cold outside so we found that the van was ventilated well but was still warm and comfortable to escape from the wind and cold outside. The heater in the driving compartment warmed up the whole of the van nicely.
I would highly recommend Camperman Australia for a trip with family and friends, it was a wonderful experience and i will be telling all my friends about this company!!!!
